Jack & Art Discuss Capt. Jack's
It seems that more than ever modelers are taking up the challenge of
"waterfront modeling". The endless textures and scenarios where
the water-meets-the-sea and the inherent challenges of doing it right
can create memorable scenes on any layout. Our own effort, Wharf
Street, is a good example of how even a modest sized layout can offer a
wealth of unique & highly detailed scenes when a waterfront is
involved.
We took the time to do this model in a "special" way. From the
stenciled "cedar shake" roofing, to the brass lobster traps and boat
hulls that are included with the kit. These details combined with
our custom made plastic windows and some interesting roof architecture
all contribute to creating what we believe is a unique building.
This slightly re-themed version of Jack's has
benifitted from additional signs, we especially like the shutters Mark
Doyon has added to his version of the structure... we should have
thought of them first ! Notice that Mark used "Gallery Glass"
instead of acetate when installing his windows. Thanks Mark.
With
it’s board -&-batten walls and “split-shake” roofing this kit
offers a uniquely maritime look to it. Complete with roofing
stencils, a couple of cast rowboats, some lobster traps and various
other goodies “Captain Jack’s” will set you up with a complete
scene. Features custom plastic windows developed for this
particular kit. Available through your local retailer. "HO"
