Click on Tab Above To Hear Jack & Art Discuss Earl's Oil ![]() The design of this structure was taken right off the layout of Earl Smallshaws "Middletown & Mystic Mines" railroad. ![]() The "S" Scale version of the kit as shown above. The kit comes complete with a billboard & some of our famous "Insta-Fence". The tanks are one-piece cast resin... no assembly required ! ![]() The "N" Scale version is shown above. |
![]() We've been
personal friends with Earl Smallshaw for years... if you were to trace
"Bar Mills" history you'd find he was one of the reasons all of this
came into being to begin with. This kit was based on one of his
original models... oddly enough the model itself was based on a
prototype here in our home-state of Maine. This is as much
"Earl's" kit as a "Bar Mills" one & we thank him for his generosity
in letting us use his design.
“Earl’s” is typical of small fueling facilities located throughout the country. This one is available in all scales, from “N” thru “O”. Although the building footprint is reproduced below remember that the building is only a small part of the kit. From the included tanks, fencing & billboard the scene can be “shaped” to fit anywhere on your layout. This kit is especially good for filling in areas that are difficult to scenic... like the areas between and next to turnouts. Vehicle (as usual) not included. "N" KIT #0801 $39.95 "HO" #0802 $49.95 "S" SCALE KIT $79.95 "O" SCALE KIT $79.95 ![]() Sam parker of Pennsylvamia used the strucutre along the waterfront on his HOn30 layout. Notice how he mounted the tanks high-up on pilings where they would be easily able to service the fishing industry on his layout. |

![]() These two photos of the "HO" version of the kit help illustrate that because the components are so completely independent of each othe they can be manipulated to fit literally any shaped "real estate". this is especially important for area close to turnouts where "normal" buildings that are more "blocky" in nature would never fit. |
