"How I spent my summer vacation" Jack & Art Discuss Collard's Creek  The photo above was sent to us by a modeler who wanted something more than a "little" scene... he combined an "Office" kit (#0872) with (2) Cabin kits (#0862) to come up with the incredibly realistic slice of the life so many of us have shared in the past. Well done... well done.  The "Office & Motor Park" kit as viewed from above. The auto & trailer are from "Woodland Scenics"  We laid-out the "Cabin" kit in a semi-circle.. things can get pretty neighborly in this type of surroundings. Here again "Woodland Scenics" provided the figure & vehicle details ! |
 This pair of kits was
inspired by a little "house" on the Saco River, right here in Bar
Mills. Named after good friend & great modeler Martin ("don't
call me Marty") Collard these small structures can be used individually
or combined to make a larger scene. While we call them “cabins”
these handy little dwellings can be used along a right-of-way, or even
as company houses in a mining scene. These are not complex
kits... heavy weathering and additional roof details will give them the
“wrong-side-of-the-tracks” look for even the down-trodden areas of you
layout ! Sometimes “simple” is good !
Although we haven't run across it as of yet we'd love to see one of you folks take these kits a bit "further" and model them as "company houses"... if you do please send us a photo so we can feature it on this part of the website !
